For over 40 years WB5DYG (aka Ron) has enjoyed the wonders of radio. From the early beginnings in 1971 using radios filled with vacuum tubes to today's high tech microprocessor controlled pocket sized powerhouses, Arduino and Raspberry Pi processors, Software Defined Radio (SDR), operational modes from analog to digital, and satellites in the sky, radio continues to be a never ending adventure. The radio hobby is filled with things old and new to enjoy, a spectrum full of things to listen to, and friends around the world to talk with. Amateur radio is also the original DIY and Maker activity for those who so desire, opening the door to a new level of wireless horizons using cutting edge technology. Communicating, or just listening, the radio hobby has something for everyone while also offering emergency communications capabilities second to none! WB5DYG operates from the beautiful San Tan Valley, AZ mini farm country. Scroll on down and check it out! |

It can be heard most daytimes on the KFS SE KiwiSDR located near San Francisco, CA (roughly 700 miles) and it has also been copied in Colorado. The beacon sends "DYG" repeatedly in CW. Reception reports welcome! Want to check out beacons, enigmas, oddities, and curiosities intercepted at WB5DYG across the shortwave bands? Check out DYGRadio on YouTube! DYGRadio
